The Program Assistant will work under the supervision of the Program Director. The assistant will plan, direct and coordinate activities to ensure the children of Lake Superior Village have a safe place during the After School and Summer Programs. Additionally, the Program Assistant will provide leadership and programming to children and staff as well as work with community members to obtain partnerships that will assist in the longevity of the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise children ages 5-17
- Become Safe Serv Certified and take the proper USDA trainings for food distribution
- Create monthly food menus and newsletters
- Purchase food, drinks and other supplies as needed
- Collaborate with Community Partners when needed
- Supervise AARP staff, NMU volunteers/intern
- Attend promotional events when needed
