About you and this role
Dow has an opening for a North America (NAA) Business Communications Manager to join the Polyurethanes (PU) and Chlor-Alkali & Vinyl (CAV) business with a preferred locations of Midland, MI or Marietta, GA (other U.S. locations may be considered).
As the NAA marketing communications manager for PU & CAV, you are responsible for positioning and promoting Dow products, technologies and services to key customers, value chain partners and markets through digital and social media, digital commerce channels, co-marketing programs, media relations, advertising, literature production, trade shows, and customer communications and events. You will be responsible for the development and execution of NAA communications plans and activities that align to Dow Polyurethanes and Chlor-Alkali & Vinyl key markets which include Consumer, Industrial, Energy Efficiency, Automotive and Sustainability. It is critical for you to understand content marketing and be comfortable developing and managing digital communication programs; digital marketing approaches to various communication tactics must be well integrated as part of any Communications Plan, taking a very holistic approach.
You will be a member of the PU & CAV NAA Leadership Team (NLT) and will provide council and oversight for regional business communications needs and support internal communications for the commercial director. You must have a "go-do" mentality, be a driver and solutions-minded individual, as well as a collaborative team member that works well within regional and global teams, across multiple markets and is able to organize, prioritize and execute numerous ongoing initiatives.
This position is part of the global Dow Polyurethanes and Chlor-Alkali & Vinyl (PU & CAV) Public Affairs team and will report to the Industrial Intermediates & Infrastructure (II&I) Global Communications Director.
Responsibilities
Serve as a member of and actively participate in NAA Leadership Team (NLT)
Develop and support communications for targeted internal and external stakeholders, including strategy and implementation
Provide strategic communications leadership to the PU & CAV NAA Leadership Team
Coordinate and implement internal and external communication programs for PU & CAV in NAA in line with the overall strategy, allocated budget, and branding guidelines
Communicate and collaborate regularly with global PU & CAV communications team to ensure alignment with global market and communications strategies and to leverage and share communications materials and best practices
Develop and implement digital plans including content development, updates, literature publishing to websites, email marketing campaigns and social media efforts
Organize updates, routing, proof-reading, publishing, and printing/production of both on and off-line collateral (literature, videos, customer communications, etc.)
Manage the distribution of various communications tools and platforms as well as to assist with the production thereof
Develop messaging, facilitate creative advertising campaigns, and write communications materials, including public relations materials (press releases, fact sheets, etc.)
Coordinate the organization of key customer events and tradeshows
Coordinate supplier and agency activities
Manage the NAA PU & CAV business communications budget
Skills and Competencies
A clear understanding of digital communications and content marketing
Knowledge of communications principles
Good writing and editing skills within AP Style Guide
Advanced communications and message delivery skills, based on clear understanding of target audience(s)
Ability to transcend informational writing style to the appropriate audience with emotive, persuasive, and motivational writing

Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or related fields OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking OR Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (i.e., Marketing Communications, Business Communications, etc.)
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Management of various digital communications and social media programs and related measurement instruments (ROI)
