Job Summary - Director, Real Estate Strategy & Property Management
The Director of Real Estate and Property Management provides oversight of the Corewell Health real estate portfolio system-wide including the East, West and South Regions. Leverages industry best practices and partners with the Facilities and Planning Design and Construction leadership team and internal/external partners to support a high reliable, customer first organizational structure that provides for a cost-effective real estate portfolio management that meets the organizations financial established metrics and provides for a safe and branded environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. Partners within the Facilities Leadership team to deliver system wide solutions for real estate related initiatives. Builds strong relationships with all facility related regulatory agencies, develops annual strategic real estate initiatives for the Corewell Health System. Works extensively with Planning Design and Construction to locate property and land that meets the system's needs. This would include a very high level of programing while working with the P DC Planning department. Is responsible for real estate and property management compliance as it relates to Stark and Anti-Kickback.
Essential Functions - Director, Real Estate Strategy & Property Management
Assist PDC with deployment of Corewell Health workplace strategy and clinical standards to drive a consistent culture & branding experience across the system. In collaboration with leadership, responsible for deployment of space utilization best practices including reports outlining capacity requirements to support anticipated approved growth, space allocations, space utilization analysis, and recommendations related to business unit programming requirements.
Develops, implements, and maintains the annual operating budget for real estate and property management.
Partners with internal and external partners to integrate a real estate program that meets Corewell Health's long term strategic initiatives. Works in close collaboration with Facilities leadership team and senior leadership concerning real estate, and Property Management while delivering safe and compliant properties and spaces. Develops ongoing short- and long-term strategic real estate initiatives in coordination with the SVP of Facilities and senior leadership.
Provides strategic direction and support for the Corewell Health to engage and promote productivity effectiveness and work process efficiencies. Develops and collaborates methodologies and approaches that are compliant with regulations and real estate standards and that established metrics are being utilized . Provides accurate and up to date benchmarking data that is used for budgeting and con tinuing impr ovements efforts.
Mentors, develops succession planning, and routinely evaluates management team for effectiveness and compliance in accordance with departmental policies and organization philosophy. Carries out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Directs and provides oversight to those engaged in supervising a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of Corewell Health's equipment, buildings, related structures, and utility systems. Provides oversight and expertise for the off-site portfolio real estate strategy.
In collaboration with Facilities leadership serves as a liaison between Corewell Health's external stakeholders such as local, state, and national healthcare societies, governmental/municipality planning development, insurance agencies, and regulatory authorities having jurisdiction to interact and be an advocate of change to benefit all healthcare organizations.
Provides expert knowledge in all areas of real estate and property management. Ability to creatively plan, analyze and develop viable solutions for real estate strategy system-wide and related issues and general service problems while conserving available resources. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations as they relate to areas of responsibility. Works in collaboration with Facilities senior leadership to provide a safe and branded environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications - Director, Real Estate Strategy & Property Management
Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
10 years of relevant experience Managing large Healthcare Real Estate Departments Required.
Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health Preferred.
LIC-Architect - State of Michigan preferred.
LIC-Professional Engineer -State of Michigan preferred.
CRT-Healthcare Facility Manager, Certified (CHFM) - preferred.
CRT-Healthcare Compliance, Certified (CHC) - HCCA Health Care Compliance Association preferred.
