Key Safety Systems Inc. has openings for Systems and Simulation Engineers in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Job duties include:
1. Handling advanced restraint engineering design, development, testing and validation activities for Safety Restraint Products (SRP) including Steering Wheels, Airbags & Seat Belts.
2. Building the finite element models, import all material properties, analyze the robustness and performance of the components and assemblies of products, and validate the testing data.
3. Providing CAE analysis and modeling specific to airbag folding, deployment models, NVH & structural failure of the products focusing on the design verification, identified design intent limitation or issues and recommendations on the improvement using FE software - HyperWorks, ESI Simfolder, LS-DYNA, PamCrash, RADIOSS & NASTRAN.
4. Evaluate SRP performances per the global vehicle safety standards and regulations and requirements including FMVSS, NCAP, ECE, and IIHS.
Requirements: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or foreign equivalent education, and five years post baccalaureate progressive experience working in the automotive safety restraints field in the position of System Performance Engineer Airbags, Airbag Engineer, or other Engineering positions. Five years’ experience required in each of the below:
1. Perform Finite Element Analyses on automotive SRP using FE software, including LS-DYNA or HyperWorks or PamCrash.
2. Perform SRP failure & NVH analyses using FE software, including LS-DYNA & NASTRAN.
3. Prepare airbag folding and deployment models using FE software, including ESI Simfolder, PamCrash, LS-DYNA & RADIOSS.
4. Working with the global vehicle safety standards and regulations and requirements including FMVSS, NCAP, ECE, and IIHS.
Experience may be obtained concurrently.
