Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager Core Business Services is responsible for managing Core Business Services (CBS) accounting activities. The individual in this role will have significant interaction with CBS leadership, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and finance leadership.
Job Duties:
Partners with CBS leadership and FP&A to understand department activities, determines appropriate general ledger postings, and delivers transparency in monthly results and analytics
Reviews CBS accounting processes and develops best practices including the implementation of changes (either technological or other) to increase efficiencies and / or improve the overall product delivered to CBS
Performs / reviews monthly journal entries and account reconciliations (as needed) for CBS specific areas, inclusive of prepaids and associated amortization, project capitalization, accruals, etc.
Ensures the application of proper accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); coordinates discussions with the external reporting team on GAAP considerations
Assists in training and education of CBS staff members in regard to new processes and/or provides guidance on current treatment
Possesses a working knowledge of National CBS budgets in order to review and analyze actual versus budget results
Seeks out opportunities to implement automation enhancements
Reviews / prepares ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed
Supports the implementation of accounting policies, process improvements, and internal control procedures
Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Acts as a mentor to Accounting Analysts and Senior Accounting Analysts
Assists in the development of team members by helping them improve their understanding of their job duties and/or delegated tasks
Assists in the supervision of staff as needed
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required
Experience:
Five (5) or more years of general accounting and/or financial reporting and analysis experience, required
Experience working within the finance department in a large multi-national corporation, preferred
License/Certifications:
CPA, preferred
Software:
Advanced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required
Experience using PeopleSoft Financials, preferred
Experience using OneStream, preferred
Experience using Oracle Cloud, preferred
