As a Senior Data Solution Architect at SMX, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering cutting-edge data solutions for our clients, particularly in the State and Local Government sector. You will work closely with clients, to understand their unique data challenges, and design and deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs. This role is 50% dedicated to pre-sales activities, including developing Statements of Work (SoW) and Level of Effort (LoE) estimates, as well as presenting solutions to executive leadership. This position is remote supporting a Boston, MA based team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Data Architecture Design: Lead the architecture design of data solutions in both the infrastructure and business data domains including the modelling of data lakes and data warehouses, to meet client requirements
Technology Expertise: Utilize your expertise across the data stack, from ETL/ELT platforms to data warehouse engines, to business intelligence and reporting tools, to design and implement robust data solutions. Snowflake, Informatica and Tableau are important platforms in our work
State and Local Government Focus: Leverage your experience in State and Local Government and highly regulated data sets, to understand industry-specific challenges and deliver relevant solutions
Coding Skills: Utilize Python and Pytorch to develop custom data solutions and enhance existing architectures
Large Data Project Management: Lead and manage large-scale data projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
AI and ML Integration: Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI, Neural Network Classifiers, Large Language Models, and prompt engineering into data solutions where applicable
Pre-sales Activities: Collaborate with the sales team to develop compelling proposals, SoWs, and LoEs for potential clients
Executive Presentations: Present data solutions and proposals to executive leadership, demonstrating technical expertise and the value of our services
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Economics or related field (Master's degree preferred)
Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Solution Architect
Strong expertise in data lakes, data warehouses, and associated technologies
Proficiency in Snowflake, Informatica, and Tableau
Experience in State and Local Government projects is highly desirable
Coding skills with Python and Pytorch are preferred
Experience running and managing large data projects is a must-have
Familiarity with AI, Neural Network Classifiers, Large Language Model development, and prompt engineering is a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Desired Skills / Certs:
Relevant certifications in cloud computing, AI, or related areas is a plus
AWS Professional Data/DevOps/AI certifications strongly desired
