This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week at one of the following Corporate Office locations: St. Petersburg, FL, Southfield, MI, Denver, CO.
Job Summary:
This role will support and build the technical solution for a scalable and highly available Kubernetes environment into Private and External Cloud Environments. This role will help to provide a scalable, secure, and production-ready platform for containerized applications on-premise and in the cloud
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and build the technical solution for a scalable and highly available Kubernetes environment into Private and External Cloud Environments.
Design, Engineer and build Kubernetes networking, security, logging, monitoring and persistent storage. Utilize helm and operator-based deployments into various environments.
Research and recommend innovative technologies and approaches for private and public cloud infrastructure management, upgrades, or improvements, while adhering to technical or budgetary constraints.
Proactively plan capacity monitoring and scaling of platforms and applications - analyzing technical areas for improvement.
Obtain and evaluate new tools and technology frameworks - on factors such as costs, performance, and security to determine solution patterns and services.
Participates in software system programming, validation, deployment, and documentation.
May lead projects including preparing project plans, assigning tasks, monitoring statuses, coordinating efforts, validating team recommendations, integrating efforts into a comprehensive strategy, and delivering results on time. Technical resource for team members in project management, testing and implementation.
Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts and technical diagrams.
May occasionally work a non-standard schedule including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Required
Experience maintaining and administering Kubernetes clusters (Rancher and Anthos preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with container runtime technologies such as Docker or Containerd
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps
Engineering experience with ingress controllers (ex: NGINX)
Experience with Helm
Proficiency in scripting using Python or bash. Should be comfortable automating tasks and building pipelines
Experience in monitoring tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus and logging tools such as Splunk
Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or Terraform
Experience with Agile Methodologies
Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Preferred Ubuntu and RHEL)
Preferred
Experience with cloud-native solution architecture and design patterns
Experience with blue/green deployments
Experience with Monitoring / APM tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, etc.)
Education/Previous Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or combination or education, experience and training
At least 2 years of experience maintaining and administering Kubernetes clusters (Rancher and Anthos preferred)
Licenses/Certifications:
- CKAD, CKS, or CKA Certifications preferred but not required
