Job Description
Come join us!
Opower is a close-knit team of people helping utilities decarbonize. We use artificial intelligence and behavioral science to influence millions of emissions-reducing utility customer actions every day.
Opower Solution Consultants partner with the sales organization to implement a comprehensive strategy for key deals by drawing on their technical sales competence, outstanding communications skills, project management expertise, and proven track record to lead cross-functional teams. Opower Solution Consultants work directly with new and existing utility clients to understand objectives, scope creative technical and business solutions, and prepare/deliver compelling demos and presentations.
This role is perfect for a structured problem solver who can bring order to complex situations, coordinate teams, and get things done. You'll work at the intersection of product, marketing, sales, and delivery - where big promises become real technology deliverables for the utility industry. You have an opportunity to make a broad impact on how millions of people behave as energy consumers and how clients lead their operations and deliver for their clients.
In this role, you will...
Translate client issues into effective and achievable SaaS and Services solutions. Facilitate fact-finding and active problem-solving workshops. And, present customer-focused outcomes on your feet while handling objections.
Craft authentic demonstrations and presentations that clearly shows our buyers we understand their problems, and our products solve them better than anyone else.
Partner with our product and marketing teams to ensure our roadmap reflects the biggest opportunities in front of us.
Lead complex sales activities including the managing of selected proposals.
Orchestrate final meeting presentations, including the development of outstanding client-facing sales content and conduct business-focused product demonstrations that "wow" our clients.
Increase sales repeatability and scalability by helping to define and implement standard methodologies, including the creation of new processes and tools.
Partner with sales executives and help define sales strategy and project plans for 5-10+ high-value, strategically important deals each year.
Be looked to as an expert in Opower's current and future products and service offerings.
To thrive in this role, you need to be...
A teacher and a mentor. You know how to run a big project, lead cross-functionally, and empower the people around you to get things done.
A communicator like no other. You're an authentic, hard-working, engaging storyteller.
Proactive. You address issues before they are issues. You dig in and participate in the success of the team.
Technologically savvy. You understand how platforms and systems can connect, how data can be transferred, and how to engage with both a technical and business audience.
Resilient and adaptable. You enjoy the thrill of competition and celebrating wins.
A great teammate. You employ extraordinary organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
A quick learner. You're fascinated by the utility industry, decarbonization, and SaaS technology.
A credible expert in utilities and demand-side management, or generally in customer engagement technology.
Personable. You crave time with buyers, and you're open to traveling 20-25% of the time.
A college graduate with a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
