Senior Technical Accountant
Novi, MI
The Sr. Analyst will collaborate with multiple business areas across the organization including Treasury, Field Finance, Tax, Corporate Accounting, and External Reporting with high visibility to Senior Leadership across the company. Specific duties include review of complex contracts to ensure appropriate accounting under US GAAP as well as review of significant capital projects for a growing cold-storage REIT to ensure expenses are appropriately capitalized as part of the Lineage Accounting Policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Timely review of Lineage contracts to ensure compliance with US GAAP. This will require ability to work with cross functional teams.
Establish process to document review of complex contracts and compliance with SOX controls.
Ability to perform US GAAP research and apply to Lineage.
Review capital projects to determine if the expenditure should be expensed or capitalized.
Perform quality reviews over key fixed asset reconciliations.
Ensure SOX compliance for key controls in the technical accounting and external reporting team.
Ability to work on ad-hoc accounting projects.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
CPA required.
3-6 years of experience in public accounting and/or external financial reporting for a public company
Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Capable of leading large complex projects
Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
