We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Regional EHS Manager within our Work Furniture Groupteam to help support our business. Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam-, rubber-, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. As a Regional EHS Manager you will have the opportunity to implement and improve programs and procedures. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by improving the safety culture of the location. The team you will be working with is hard-working and collaborative, and values continuous improvement to help keep employees safe .
Evaluates, analyzes, and reports branch metrics regularly to ensure continuous improvement
Distributes toolbox safety topics on a weekly basis
Promotes and influences safety awareness through communication and training programs
Evaluates and implements programs to control, eliminate and prevent injuries and accidents
Conducts regular on-site safety inspections of workplace environment, equipment, and practices; and provides coaching on best practices
Conducts comprehensive and effective accident investigations to determine root causes, and uses the findings to recommend preventive procedures and processes
Monitors branch compliance of state and federal standards regularly, and implements plans to meet those standards
Develops and maintains emergency response plans and procedures
Delivers new employee orientation safety training
Maintains and improve sustainability for Western Michigan branches.
Performs and/or coordinate all safety inspections and conduct accident/loss investigations
Manage waste disposal and evaluates waste streams for environmental compliance
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years job-related experience in safety management
OSHA certification preferred
OSHA 30HR
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues
Ability to recognize known/potential work place hazards and ability to drive change
Ability to present and communicate safety tool box training
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Thorough knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC regulations
Excellent computer skills
Effective critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
Strong effective leadership, collaboration, coaching/training and motivational skills
Ability to calmly and professionally respond to emergencies
