Registered Nurse - Peritoneal Dialysis

As aPeritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse (PD RN)you will be in a unique position to be an autonomous, innovative, and resourceful healthcare professional. As a specialized RN, you will utilize your communication, case/plan management, and coordination skills to develop relationships with your patient and their caregivers. It is through these relationships you will become their most consistent healthcare partner, allowing your patient to find success in PD and life balance.
We are looking for a self-motivated, education-focused RN who is passionate about patient care and excited for the opportunity to independently manage their cases with confidence and accountability. In this education-focused position, you will teach your patient and their caregivers home hemodialysis within a clinical setting and once comfortable, transition the treatment out of the clinic so they may dialyze in the comfort of their home.

What Can You Expect as a PD RN?
Monday - Friday, Business Hours in an outpatient clinic setting
No Holidays, Nights, or Weekends with a flexible schedule to manage caseloads
Collaboration with an Interdisciplinary to plan your patients' care and treatment
Full Paid Dialysis / Peritoneal Dialysis Training
This is a Full Time Non-Seasonal position
What Does a PD RN Do?
Coordinate and lead clinical care and the healthcare team with the patient and caregivers
Educate patients and caregivers on all aspects of hemodialysis at home, such as -
Self-Care: Monitoring Vitals, Medication Management, Central Venous Catheter (CVC) / Fistula/Vascular Access Care, Injection Care / Administration, Collection / Submission of Labs, Fluid Balance, Access infection / Flow Issues and Exercise Regimen
Treatment: Aseptic Technique, Disinfection, Machine Alarms, Records, Monthly Visits, Connecting with MSW & RD, Supplies, Hemodialysis Machine (Care, Setup, Take Down, Troubleshooting), Water / Culture Sampling
Expanded Relationships: From transplant patients to those that have comorbidities such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease, you will play an important role in helping them find a balance with their lives and schedules as well as gaining independence in their care
What does a successful RN look like?
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on nursing experience within a clinical fast-paced setting (ER, CCU, ICU, MedSurg, and Dialysis)
ADN / BSN / Diploma in Nursing with an active current RN license in Michigan
Self-motivated, organized RN who is passionate about patient care and relationships
Excited about the opportunity to independently manage cases with confidence and accountability
Desire to join the 3% of elite specialized RNs within the dialysis realm
