We are looking for an experienced and innovative leader to oversee and grow our Automotive & Mobility Development Service Line. With the emergence of electric vehicles, connected cars and autonomous driving, the auto industry is in a period of great disruption. Therefore, the individual chosen for this position will be responsible for developing and executing our overall strategy for AMD, including thought leadership, new product development, talent management, marketing, and business development.
Role Summary
Business leader of the U.S. AMD Service Line, responsible for developing and executing strategy to meet financial obligations to grow revenue and profit. Serve as the external "Voice" and industry expert for AMD. Strong focus on talent management and employee satisfaction. Leveraging the best of Ipsos proprietary tools to design, execute and market new syndicated studies and proprietary solutions. Ensure client relationship excellence and drive business development sales growth and value creation for the portfolio of assigned clients. Bring a unique blend of both left-brain (analytical) and right-brain (creative) attributes on our clients b2b and consumer problems.
What you can expect to be doing:
Business Strategy and Planning
Set and document the strategic vision for the service line and ensure resources are aligned toward achieving business and financial goals
Serve as the external face of AMD, including presenting at conferences, working with media, and developing thought leadership papers in conjunction with Global AMD lead
Liaise with teams across the Ipsos business including the Client Organization, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc. to achieve business objectives
Lead quarterly strategic planning and annual budgeting process
Manage weekly pipelines and sales calls with account leaders
Create monthly/quarterly/yearly financial forecasts
Own and manage the P&L, staff chargeability, turnover, and other KPIs
Compile monthly executive reports on health of the business
Lead quarterly financial presentations with leadership team members in North America and Globally
Talent Management
Lead and direct a team of 4 direct reports and 50 research and IT professionals within the US
Conduct regular 1:1s with direct reports and regularly scheduled leadership meetings
Lead AMD quarterly town halls with entire staff
Attend global Service Line meetings and support global initiatives
Set the talent acquisition strategy, conduct regular talent reviews, oversee performance review/merit increase/promotion processes, and ensure career development initiatives are in place
Business Development/Client Engagement
Strategize and implement ways to improve and increase business
Provide guidance to team members on client engagement and the search for new business
Ensure proper implementation of Win and Retain programs and best practices
Support the team with proposals and pitches for new business
Review pricing structure and major proposals
Serve as executive sponsor on key accounts
Attend key account quarterly business reviews
Serve as point of escalation for important issues and teams
Active involvement in both new wins and client retention strategies
What success in this role looks like:
Meet agreed upon sales and profit targets
Establish themselves within the first year as a recognized industry thought leader
Create a suite of new syndicated and proprietary offerings that leverage the best of Ipsos, that will attract buyers outside our traditional client base (e.g. OEMs (e.g., Apple, Google, Uber, Exon, U.S. Government, etc.)
This might be the job for you if you have:
10-15 years' experience within the Automotive business sector and/or supporting automotive clients, encompassing a range of industries, clients, and programs
Preference given to candidates with strong knowledge of CASE (Connectivity, Autonomous, Shared Mobility and EVs)
Proven connections within the mobility industry that could lead to new business and tangible growth outside traditional auto OEMs
Advisor - strategic thinking and insight
Strong leadership skills, collaborative management style, and excellent interpersonal/communication/relationship-building abilities
Organizational savvy
Business and commercial acumen
Financial and pricing acumen (including negotiation)
Understanding of market research, data analytics, and interpreting consumer product feedback
Demonstrated ability in managing a layered business with employees at all levels
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, excellent
Ability to travel as-needed for internal and client-facing meetings
Proficient in Microsoft Office

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 to $285,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
