Summary
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI)'s Regulation & Certification Department is currently seeking a Commercial Vehicle Emissions Regulation and Certification Engineer for our Team at the Superior Township facility in Michigan, just east of Ann Arbor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Develop, track, and review certification documentation and test data relevant to heavy-duty vehicle exhaust and evaporative emissions and fuel economy certification issues.
Obtain heavy-duty vehicle certification required for distribution and sales in U.S and Canada.
Prepare and submit certification documentation and technical data to government agencies.
Respond to government agency inquiries as HATCI's point of contact.
Follow Federal and State regulatory emissions activities and provide related analysis, comments, and guidance to Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) affiliates.
Monitor upcoming EPA and CARB research and regulatory initiatives through participation in industry and government meetings and committees, as well as through frequent contact with government representatives, other companies, and trade associations.
Prepare corporate positions and written comments in response to regulatory actions by gathering and coordinating input from R&D and HMG-affiliated companies.
Prepare reports on an ongoing basis addressing upcoming regulations and summaries of published regulatory actions with recommendations for action.
Communicate directly with government officials, corporate management, and outside affiliates through written and verbal means.
Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with corporate and affiliate team members, and government personnel to perform job functions.
Create and present technical reports documenting certification activities, status, and projected expectations.
Prepare quarterly, and yearly summaries of environmental activity.
Perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, vehicle orders, test facility bookings, etc.
Travel domestically & internationally as necessary (up to 20% of the time)
Qualifications and Requirements
Heavy-duty vehicle emissions experience is beneficial
Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Basic Project Management skills
Effective time management and organization skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, high integrity and ethical behavior
Experience working in culturally diverse team environment beneficial.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or other analytical/technical fields.
5 years automotive regulation, certification, and/or homologation experience
Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
