As an Insurance Specialist you will:
Oversee all aspects of insurance for the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Perform nation-wide eligibility verification of benefits for potential Lifepoint Rehab customers.
Perform re-verification for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payor sources for the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Will work closely with Clinical Liaisons, Social Worker, and Program Director to ensure proper insurance information has been obtained in order to facilitate admissions.
Maintains a current knowledge of Medicare and State Medicaid requirements and practices.
Acts as a Lifepoint Rehab representative in dealing with third party payors and insurance companies.
Completes and compiles insurance reports for re-verification.
Qualifications
As an Insurance Specialist you will have:
2 year degree in medical field required.
Experience with medical coding preferred.
Post-acute healthcare experience in billing and/or insurance verification preferred, not necessary.
