Job Description:
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently seeking a SW
Development Engineer at our Superior Township, MI facility. This position is in
the department of Infotainment System SW Development that undertakes various
innovation projects related to infotainment and UI/UX systems software
development for the next generation vehicle software architecture as well as
production application of SW features and service contents.
Core Responsibilities
*
Voice recognition and related service SW
development and production infotainment system integration
*
In-vehicle application development for multiple
infotainment SW platforms
*
New infotainment feature concept development in
cross-functional projects and POC creation working with other SW development
teams such as Vehicle Control, ADAS/AD, and Electrical/Electronic System
*
Engineering spec design and release for N.A.
region specific features
*
Collaboration with internal/external project
partners such as content providers, prototyping services, university labs, and
tech suppliers
*
Production SW log/code analysis and improvement
*
Competitor system benchmarking, industry
technology sensing, and trend analysis
*
Travel both domestically and internationally (up
to 20%)
Basic Qualifications
*
B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and
equivalent experience
*
Minimum 1 year of industry experience of an
automotive or IT embedded product development
*
Proficiency in programming languages: C++,
Qt/QML, Python, JavaScript
*
Software developer/engineer experience in
vehicle infotainment, E/E systems, consumer electronics or any relevant
products, especially related to at least one of the following fields: HMI
application programing, system programing, and embedded system development
*
Able to adapt to agile work scope with shifting
priorities, demands, and timelines
*
Comfortable with blank-slate initiatives as well
as on-going established projects
*
Good communication skills and ability to
develop/keep good relationship with tech experts from R&D Center and internal
counterpart teams
Preferred Qualifications
*
M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
*
3+ years of experience in a similar role
*
Experience in production SW lifecycle including
requirements, system design, development, and maintenance of the embedded
software for vehicle systems
*
Working knowledge of operating systems such as
QNX, Linux, Open Source SW, Yocto, and Android
*
Working knowledge of vehicle communication
network systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and instrumentation/operation of
data acquisition systems such as ETAS/INCA and Vector/CANoe
*
Understanding of modern techniques in at least
one of the following fields: Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Natural
Language Processing, or Voice/Speech Recognition
*
Knowledge in Agile, Waterfall, DevOps development
processes and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo
