JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW:
The [VP/Head] of Investor Relations is responsible developing and implementing a proactive investor relations strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. You will act as the primary point of contact for all investor-related matters and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and rest of the management team to communicate the company's financial performance, growth prospects, and strategic initiatives. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Develop and Execute Investor Relations Strategy:
Develop and implement a proactive investor relations strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
Engage with the Investment Community:
Serves as primary investor and analyst contact capable of articulating our business model in a clear and concise manner and building confidence in our vision and strategy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with investors (equity and fixed income), analysts, rating agencies and key stakeholders in the financial community.
Organize and participate in investor conferences, roadshows, earnings calls, and other relevant events.
Proactively engage with existing shareholders to understand their perspectives, concerns, and feedback.
Develop strategies to attract and retain long-term investors while expanding the company's shareholder base.
Financial Communications:
Understands and can articulate our financial model and KPI's at an expert level both internally and externally.
Partner with FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Legal and other stakeholders to prepare and review financial reports, and other materials for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop investor-related communications, including quarterly earnings releases and investor presentations.
Collaborates with the Communications team and other functions on strategic communications matters, including, but not limited to crisis and issues management, M&A, corporate sustainability/ESG, and financial media relations.
Market Intelligence and Analysis:
Oversees and performs research and analysis of industry, peers and competitors' financial statements, operational metrics, valuation, relative stock price movements, investors' and analysts' perceptions and opinions, and stock ownership, as well as other ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Monitor and analyze market trends, peer benchmarking, and industry developments to provide insights and recommendations to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors.
Identify potential areas of risk or concern and develop strategies to address them effectively.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Investor relations experience, with a deep knowledge of the capital markets.
Experience in M&A, corporate strategy, and/or corporate development.
Strong interpersonal skills and an outstanding ability to communicate, including strong oral and written communications skills, as well as C-level and Board presentation experience.
Intimately familiar with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships within the investor/analyst community.
Ability to quickly grasp and articulate our business strategy and certain technical elements to investors and others in the capital markets ecosystem.
Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to think and act in the best interests of our investors, customers, and employees in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Exceptional decision-making and analytical skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree required.
7+ years' work experience in corporate IR, treasury, finance, investment banking, sell-side investment research, corporate development and similar positions with a publicly traded company or agency IR experience.
This position is based in Plymouth, Michigan
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
CPA, CFA, or MBA desired, but not required.
Flexible to travel as required
