EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary period
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direction, assists with processing and analyzing medical records and data reporting systems to implement and communicate data and information in a clinical setting. Coordinates the integration of data and information to support persons served and the healthcare team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and assists in creating, updating, and deleting master data.
Processes confidential data and information according to industry guidelines.
Assists with developing, generating, and analyzing reports.
Manages and designs the reporting environment, including data sources and security.
Maintains the data management system in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
Promotes initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
Oversees the testing and implementation of new or upgraded software and assists with strategic decisions on new clinical information systems.
Trains end-users on new reports and dashboards.
Assists with troubleshooting databases.
Provides technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Health Information Technology, Informatics, Nursing, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in healthcare data analysis
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Health Information Technology, Informatics, Nursing, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in mental health
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES:
Knowledge of:
- Michigan Mental Health Code
- Microsoft Windows, word processing and spreadsheet programs, and other computer software applications
- Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) policies, rules, regulations, codes and procedures
- Medicaid Provider Manual
- Standard business and healthcare software, statistical analysis, report writing, spreadsheets, and word processing
Skill in:
- Using good professional judgment and following complex directions
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Analyzing information and completing reports
