UX/UI Designer (Troy, MI, or other unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.) Responsibilities include: Creating user interfaces and apps for the next generation of vehicles as well as concepts for future human machine interfaces on mobility platforms. Working with a team of UI/UX Designers, Storytellers, and Programmers to provide the ideation and creation of the in-vehicle experience including the center screen interface, meters, HUDs, and other interactions. Working with engineers, researchers, and designers from other departments throughout the organization to support the development of functional interior design prototypes used to demonstrate the emotional connection to our users as well as influence the production software. Creating custom visual experiences that are clear and simple, yet beautiful and enticing. Providing experiences within an automotive environment including the vehicle’s primary HMI (center screen and meter) and other aspects of the interior experience (illumination, sound,
animation). Creating scenarios based on human centered design, human psychology, consumer electronics, and mobile app or web development. Working with competitive analysis of user models and interaction models to feed into wireframing activities. Creating detailed Personas and user stories for featured sets. Using user-centered User Interactions maps and diagrams. Sketch, Axure, Adobe XD, OmniGraffle, prototypes & wireframes, Jira, Confluence, Modern web & 3D, Alias, Cinema4D, UX Design, Kanzi. B.A. in Interaction Design, Transportation Design or closely related Academic program must have included: Prototyping HMI (vehicle system) UI/UX design using Protopie, Unity, Unreal Engine; Jira/Confluence; Design thinking workshop facilitation; Photoshop for 2 D vehicle graphics rendering. Telecommuting permitted. Travel 10% Domestic, 5% International. 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
