Position Summary: Sets up appointments and evaluations for patients; handles customer service inquiries. Ensures the smooth operation by obtaining accurate and complete patient information.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Deliver quality customer service by answering incoming phone calls or contacting patients by phone to determine appropriate exam/consultation and schedule patient appropriately.
Review appointment form and verify patients information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Ensure best possible customer service by properly educating the patient on the exam/test/consultation preparation and answering related questions.
Update patient record, including any notes necessary for the doctors, customer, or future reference.
Obtains proper approval for schedule changes or cancellations as appropriate.
Maintain total confidentiality of personal and financial data.
Act in a courteous manner and maintain composure even when dealing with challenging patients.
Other clerical duties may include maintaining databases, faxing and scanning patient histories, answering phones, and updating patient account information.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED as a minimum
Two years of experience in scheduling or administration required. 3-5 years of experience prefered. Pay based on skill set.
