Job Description
This position is the recognized resource responsible for the oversight of the Recognition of Prior Basic Training and Experience (RPTE) program, the licensing of Private Security Police (PSP) agencies, and the licensing of Railroad Police officers. This position is the expert and key point of contact responsible for the analysis to determine the complexity and severity of review required and the independent determinations regarding eligibility and approval for all three programs. This position is responsible for program oversight and licensing of Private Security Police as mandated by 1968 PA 330, and functions as the expert and recognized resource for program oversight and licensing of railroad police officers as
mandated by 1993 PA 354. This position assists with the preliminary analysis of applicants in compliance with the Michigan Law enforcement Officer's Safety Act as amended, and the MCOLES Carrying Concealed Weapon permit program.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
Alternate Education and Experience
Departmental Analyst 12
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
