KPMG is currently seeking a Sr. Associate, Engineer - Datadog Subject Matter Expert to join our Digital Nexus Technology organization. This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of Datadog solutions to monitor and manage the organization's diverse infrastructure, applications, and services; collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure effective integration of Datadog into the existing technology stack
Integrate Datadog SaaS with cloud platforms, container orchestration tools, as well as on-premises hosts to provide comprehensive monitoring across the entire technology stack; participate in Datadog Agent-based integrations, deployments, custom YAML configurations, and revision control options; collaborate with DevOps teams to automate monitoring and response processes
Serve as the primary point of contact for Datadog-related inquiries, providing expert guidance and best practices; stay updated on the latest Datadog features, integrations, and industry trends to optimize monitoring strategies
Reproduce technical issues and dive into Datadog's integrations
Design and implement performance monitoring solutions using Datadog to identify and address potential bottlenecks and inefficiencies
Work closely with system administrators and engineers to optimize resource utilization and enhance overall system performance
Qualifications:
Minimum four years of recent experience with Datadog, including configuration and troubleshooting
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in Datadog or cloud platforms is preferred
Similar experience in tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Elasticsearch, New Relic, and others with interest in Datadog will also be considered; experience with monitoring agent deployment and remediation via automation tools and CLI/GUI
Basic understanding data infrastructure and pipeline; experience with tools such as Cribl/Kafka is a plus; experience with scripting languages (such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell) for automation tasks is preferred
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred; highly knowledgeable specialist in one or more Datadog product area(s)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail; excellent communication and collaboration skills
