We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Inspector with a strong background in manual measuring techniques, with a background in CMM programming and operation. In this role, you will be responsible for manually checking Incoming and Assembly line products using the latest manual measuring tools and techniques. Zeiss Calypso/ PC-DMIS experience a plus. Your expertise in manual inspection methods will complement your CMM operation skills, allowing you to perform comprehensive quality checks.
Responsibilities:
Manual Inspection:
- Conduct visual inspections and use various manual measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify product quality.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Record manual inspection results accurately and maintain inspection records.
CMM Operation:
- Set up and operate the CMM to measure critical dimensions and tolerances of machined components.
- Create and execute measurement programs.
- Monitor and maintain the CMM to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Interpret CMM inspection results and generate detailed reports.
Quality Control:
- Work closely with the quality control team to identify and report non-conformances and deviations.
- Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve quality-related issues.
- Assist in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
Calibration and Maintenance:
- Ensure that the measuring equipment is calibrated and maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Keep a well-organized and clean workspace, maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production and quality goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inspection results and any quality issues.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience in Blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and quality control standards.
- Proficiency in manual inspection techniques and the use of various measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
- Knowledge of metrology, statistical process control, and quality control methodologies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and quality standards.
