We are immediately hiring for a Network Architect to join our Architecture team. This position is an in-office position and can be located in Westminster, CO, Herndon, VA and or Ypsilanti, MI. We are looking for an energetic and talented person that will partner with our business leaders and engineering teams to grow and evolve our WAN and LAN networks.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
Create architectural roadmaps for how Maxar's WAN and LAN infrastructure will evolve over the next 2-4 years.
Assist in leading the implementation of the architectural roadmaps.
Work very closely with the network team, including assisting/leading implementation efforts.
Support the implementation and operation of WAN infrastructure, including multi-point WAN connectivity, dedicated leased lines to various customers, VPN links to various customers and remote sites.
Support the implementation and operation of LAN infrastructure at datacenters, branch offices, and critical operations centers.
Participate in the development and implementation of the AWS Cloud infrastructure and be able to collaborate and work across teams.
Lead discussions involving several teams and points of view to come to consensus on hard architectural problems.
Develop standards, guidelines, and best practices to enable rapid software engineering, integration, and operations across Maxar.
Engage with business leaders to ensure that the software architectures proposed meet the needs of the business in an effective manner.
Maintain vendor relationships and communications.
Support production networks.
Minimum requirements for this position:
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with CI poly
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related engineering field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
8+ years of experience in network engineering/network administration
4+ years recent experience building networks that focus on high availability
4+ years recent experience with Palo Alto firewalls
4+ years recent experience with Juniper Networks routers, switches, and firewalls
4+ years recent experience creating and maintaining network architecture documentation
Some travel required to various office locations
Demonstrable experience with data / IP networking and protocols (e.g., VXLAN/EVPN, OSPF, BGP, GRE, TCP, UDP, FTP, DNS)
Minimum three days per week, on-site work
These skills would be amazing:
Current Secret or Top Secret clearance.
Experience working with classified networks.
Experience with: Zabbix, F5 load balancing technologies, Infoblox (DNS, DHCP, NetMRI, etc.), and Aruba technologies (Mobility Conductor, ClearPass).
Strong troubleshooting abilities in a complex network environment.
3+ years' experience with AWS networking technologies (e.g. VPCs, Customer Gateways, Direct Connects, etc.)
Great communications skills.
Ability to be a calming voice of reason when difficult decisions need to be made.
Have a security focused mindset and understand NIST 800-171/53/CMMC network security requirements.
Ability to apply appropriate technology when solving business problems.
Experience in the networking aspects of acquisitions and divestitures
Hold at least a basic cyber security certification, such as Security+ or similar.
