Responsible for monitoring and integrating product design, processes, and costs both internally and with the supplier, ensuring optimal production costs and material costs; define and measure target costing on main commodities; serve as an intermediary between interdisciplinary teams, including external suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Quality, ensuring optimal engineering quality and production; provide detailed cost calculations both for pre-production and production stages and in support of the project buyers and commodity buyers; develop cost calculation models by analyzing market production costs, work sequences, manufacturing processes, and cycle time data; identify cost optimization potential and provide engineering support to buyers in commercial negotiations based on target costs from both a technical and economic standpoint; develop and maintain standardized cost calculation tools and databases, including raw material, machine tariff, and labor cost updated for all of the Americas region; utilize Catia, Excel, Visual Basic, Teamcenter, SAP, CAPE, FACTON, GCS, Alteryx, and ABC costing to perform duties; facilitate participation in value stream analysis and process optimization at supplier sites; analyze cost structures through cost and value analysis, and establish benchmarks for best practices; monitor procurement and commodity markets through regular communication with purchasing, trade fairs, supplier visits, and internet searches; provide engineering support to the Costing Team during quotation and acquisition phases to estimate and evaluate initial supplier offers, as well as estimate costs per commodity based on target cost models; and use manufacturing process knowledge in plastics, die casting, stamping, machining, wiring and final assembly to determine the correct material, cycle time, cavitation, floor space, and machine utilities that will be needed in the cost analysis.

Salary: $120,000 per year;
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Cost Engineer, as a Cost Estimating Analyst, as a Cost Program Lead, as an ED&T Analyst, as a System Cost Engineer, or in a related occupation;
