PDW is seeking a hands-on mechanically inclined entry level mechanic to modify vehicles in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostic, repairs, and maintenance. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge prototypes, while assisting senior technicians to bring tomorrow's vehicles to life.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on automotive mechanic experience
- Minimum of 1 year working in an automotive shop environment
- Familiarity with basic automotive systems (removing the dashboard and replacing airbags, engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes)
- Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment.
- Strong worth ethic and attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
- Automotive vocational training or certification
