Patriot REI has an immediate need for Apprentice Carpenters to work in the Port Sanilac area. This is a full-time 8 hours per day position.
Duties:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete projects
- Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, plumbers, and other professionals on construction projects
Requirements:
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials
- Excellent mathematical skills, with the ability to make accurate measurements
- Strong attention to detail, and good problem-solving ability
- Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation
Pay starts at: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on knowledge, experience, and ability.
