Interstate Power Systems is seeking an experienced outside sales representative to cover marine markets in the upper Midwest.
Basic Responsibilities:
The Marine Dealer Support Representative will actively promote marine product support, parts sales and service in the assigned territory, including parts of WI, MI, IL, IN, IA, MO and MN.
Specific Responsibilities:
Secure business from and provide support to assigned region of new and existing Volvo Penta Marine dealers.
Establish and maintain relationships with marine service dealers, marinas and boat dealers of products Interstate represents, to promote the brands represented and increase sales
Support dealers with information on promotions, policies and procedures, and
Work with dealers to hold them accountable to annual sales targets, training requirements and inventory levels
Ensure that dealers are kept up to date regarding new product features and developments
Act as a liaison between the dealers and company as needed to ensure that the customer needs are adequately met
Evaluate new and existing dealers to maintain high standards and accountability
Manage sub-dealer contracts, new dealer onboarding, procedure and system training
Work with local Interstate branch teams to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment
Manage sub-dealers, providing technical support and annual audits
Organize and manage annual dealer meeting
Attend regional trade shows
Assist marketing department with weekly social media posts promoting the assigned products and services
Provide sales pushes to dealers for assigned marketing campaigns
Provide performance evaluations and supporting documentation for achieving sales KPI's
Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Qualities:
Strong sense of customer service
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to clearly and professionally communicate in person, on phone or electronically
Strong working knowledge of information technology such as Microsoft Office or PDF products for daily communication, completing forms and spreadsheets
A self-starter who can be productive with limited direct supervision
Proven background in sales
Clear driving record
Available for overnight travel approximately 50%
Knowledgeable and experienced with marine propulsion systems or related industrial systems experience
Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent required
3+ years recent/relevant experience with outside sales
Experience in distribution, industrial, marine and/or heavy equipment a plus
