Zuniga Cement Construction is a cement construction, and its customers are Municipalities. They dig many feet down and repair and install sewer and water pipes. Once the repairs are
made, the Lead Forman covers the soil and lays new cement walkways. The task of the nine laborers for this position is to place topsoil and sod around the newly formed walkways.
• The main role of the asphalt and cement laborer is to look after the mat. This includes raking, sweeping, and lining out the road, as well as working alongside the backhoe. Transporting
rakes, lutes, shovels, and spray cans to the asphalt. Dismantles forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, bolts or form hardware.
• Dig ditches nd levels earth to grade specifications, using pick, shovels and rakes.
• Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.
• Clean construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil,- water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Use power sprayer or washer.
• Report any unsafe work practices or safety hazards encountered on the job to the Foreman/ Foreman Lead.
• Moving the asphalt saw to the transverse joint. Sweeping and cleaning the area in front of the asphalt.
• Measuring and lining out the area for the day's paving. Working as a Flagger to direct motorists away from the work zone. Transporting water to the rollers, power broom, and plate
compactor.
• Building a launchpad for the asphalt at the beginning of the pull. Assisting the screed operator. Shoveling material out to the end gate.
