Your New Role
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Gage Technician supports manufacturing by improving the company and department efficiency in a safe, high quality and productive manner, and is accountable for the quality and housekeeping goals.
As a Gage Technician you will
Enter and maintain all calibration records in the gage tracking system.
Schedule all calibrations of Gages and Fixtures and ensure on time completion.
Utilize statistical and problem-solving knowledge.
Enter inspection results into gage tracking system.
Perform part capability studies and Gage R & Rs as required.
Collect and maintain all Gage BOM information from Gage Suppliers.
Maintain cleanliness of all gages used during production.
Perform preventative maintenance on all gages and fixtures as necessary.
Perform inventory of CMM lab to ensure all gages, tools and fixtures are accounted for.
Create Work Orders for damaged fixtures and gages that need major repairs or engineering level updates.
Communicate with Quality Engineers regarding Fixture/Gage status to ensure QE creates the proper deviations.
Assist with Audits of CMM lab.
Facilitate Red Rabbit creation. Create the Red Rabbit per the QE/PE requirements.
Maintain Red Rabbits in the system and visually inspect red rabbits to ensure functionality.
Maintain close communication with Engineers, Weld Technicians, Quality Assurance, and Production employees.
Notify QM, AQM, QS and QEs if gage is found out of spec.
Assist in containment of product if Out of Tolerance condition is found.
Develop and Maintain KPIs.
What you will need to succeed in this role
High School Diploma or GED.
Above average computer skills.
Must have experience with measurement tools: pneumatic, hydraulic, electric power and hand tools, gages, and software's as required.
Must have some knowledge of MSA's.
Must have experience using standard measurement, inspection, and testing equipment in the inspection of sheet metal parts and assemblies.
Knowledge of quality / measurement/ manufacturing principles
Demonstrate an understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction.
Pneumatic, hydraulic, electric power and hand tools, gages, and software's as required.
Blueprint reading, MSA's, Hand tools, Gage Certification
