Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!) is a local unit of government that receives over $10 million in federal and state workforce development grants that will help assist job seekers with their career and education opportunities. In 2022, 10,843 job seekers were supported through employment services such as resume writing, interview skills, virtual workshops, and more. There were 1,025 total individuals serviced in our intensive workforce development training programs.
As a Special Grants Liaison, you will have the responsibility of the operation of special projects that focus on apprenticeships, including but not limited to, those through the Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) and the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA), which serves as the fiscal entity for the Workforce Intelligence Network (WIN). This position will work to support all activities that align with the Apprenticeship Grants that CAMW! and the Apprenticeship Success Coordinator may be engaged in. This position will also assist in the implementation of new apprenticeship programs and/or grants, as well as new apprenticeship program development.
On a typical day, you might...
- Assist in contract writing for apprenticeship special project programs, as needed.
- Support Lead grant writing for apprenticeship special programs and proposals.
- Support Request for Proposal (RFP) process to identify apprenticeship special projects program sub-recipients, as needed.
- Develop required local policy plans and policies for apprenticeship special grant projects.
- Facilitate apprenticeship program design with CAMW! leadership and sub-recipients, as needed.
- Identify potential employer partners to ensure that apprenticeship special grant project outcomes are achieved.
- Provide outreach to the targeted population for education, employment, and training as required under the apprenticeship special grant projects.
- Verify tracking and reporting of performance and service outcomes for each apprenticeship special project.
- Compile apprenticeship special projects grant reports to demonstrate grant progress and performance metrics adherence.
- Attend and represent CAMW! at executive leadership meetings regarding apprenticeship special grant projects.

Annual Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000
