As a Digital & Social Media Specialist at Tenneco, you will be responsible for developing and implementing digital and social media strategies to enhance our brand presence, engage with our target audience, and drive business growth. You will play a crucial role in managing our digital and social media platforms, working with a creative team to develop compelling content, and analyze performance metrics to optimize our internal and external digital presence. The position may be based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Director of Content Management and Digital Communications of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and drive internal and external stakeholder engagement.
Manage and maintain Tenneco's social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as well manage the publication of content on the Company's internal employee engagement platform.
Support the identification of key influencers in our industry and a means for reaching them through digital communications channels.
Create and curate engaging and shareable content, including text, image, and video, that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our target audience.
Monitor social media trends, industry news, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and stay ahead of the curve.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and design to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation across all social media channels.
Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster meaningful relationships with our online community.
Utilize digital communications and social media management tools to schedule posts, track performance, and generate reports on key metrics.
Stay current with the latest digital communications and social media best practices, algorithms, and emerging platforms to continuously improve our digital presence.
Monitor and manage online reviews and reputation management platforms to maintain a positive brand image.
Stay informed about relevant legal and ethical guidelines for social media and ensure compliance in all activities.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Digital and Social media communications, or related roles, preferably in a leadership capacity. At least 5 years of experience in internal communications and employee engagement. Some experience working in change management is a plus.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of various digital and social media platforms, their features, and best practices for reaching industry influencers and key internal and external stakeholders.
Strong understanding of social media analytics and ability to interpret data to drive actionable insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to adapt writing style to different platforms and audiences.
Proficiency in using digital and social media management tools, such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative social media campaigns.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with the automotive industry or related fields is a plus.
A passion for social media, digital marketing, and staying current with the latest trends and technologies.
