Ultium Cells Overview:
Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Position Description:
A Production Supervisor ensures production and quality goals are achieved through teamwork and clear communication. Train and develop Operators for success in the team’s goals and for future opportunities. Create a positive and highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers. Evaluate and update the production schedule, overseeing quality control and ensuring products are produced on time, and projects completed within the deadline. Using Safety and Environment, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and
cost to accomplish essential job duties.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance for plant safety and environmental regulations
• Be a deep-skilled operator/subject matter expert of assigned equipment.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained to meet high equipment efficiency targets.
• Support Team Members and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
• Collaborate with other leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between
departments
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
• Support and train team to Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or
malfunctions
• Support employee training through demonstrating equipment operations, safety procedures and quality expectations
• Support and facilitate team-based problem solving
• Observe key performance indicators of work area; monitor gauges, dials, and equipment
performance other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
• Confer with leadership and team to resolve work force concerns and to employee engagement
• Interpret specifications, part and assembly drawings, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers
• Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies:
0 to 3 years experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing equipment, including a basic understanding of machine controls, preferred
0 to 3 Years Industrial Leadership - Supervision Experience, preferred
Ability to travel 75% the first year (domestic and international)
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science four-year college or university or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong understanding of quality processes and implementation methods
Knowledge of electricity, electrical products, raw materials, production processes, automated equipment, manufacturing cost reduction, and other techniques for maximizing the manufacturing efficiency and distribution of goods. (Especially, experience in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries is preferred.)
0 to 3 years Industrial experience- supervisory experience, preferred
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
