Wage & Benefit Package: $90,000 - $110,000

Qualifications
o Associates Degree in Business or Healthcare Management (Mandatory) or Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
o Management Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
o Leadership Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
o Minimum of EMT-Basic license (NREMT or State of Michigan) (Mandatory)
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o EMS Instructor/Coordinator (Preferred)
o Financial and administrative management experience
o Extensive computer knowledge
o Understanding of and experience with capacity building
o Responds promptly to all written and oral communications
Reports to: The Board of Directors
Summary: The Director acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the non-profit organization to provide emergency medical services and other special services, by performing duties or through subordinate management and supervisors. The Executive Director is responsible for overall management and direction of the organization in accordance with its vision, mission and direction from the board.
The Director works under the direct oversight of CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS. Board of Directors, and reports to the President of the organization.
Overview: The Director provides oversight and overall management, planning, vision and leadership for all aspects of CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS. including programs, finance, resource development, human resources, member services and communications.
The Director assumes a participating role throughout the state representing CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS, local Medical Control Authority (MCA) activities, other state organizations i.e.., Michigan Association of Ambulance Services (MAAS) and national associations, i.e. (American Ambulance Association) (AMA), foundations, non-governmental organizations and governmental organizations. The Executive Director works with the Board and sub-committees to establish vision, mission, policies, strategic focus, priorities, and general scope of programs.
Responsibilities:
- Support and work with the Board of Directors:
- The Executive Director will take direction from the Board of Directors and work with the Board to assure that CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS operate with a clear mission and short/ long-range strategic plans that are consistent with the mission.
- Provides leadership in developing CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS as an effective, high quality organization representing the interests and advancement of all member providers and services. The Director will work collaboratively with board members and representatives of other member- based organizations. The Director will keep the Board informed about issues and events which impact or could impact CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
- Keep the Board of Directors fully informed on conditions, opportunities, issues, and challenges for CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS. and the environment in which it operates so that the Board can carry out its governance, financial oversight and leadership role.
- Develop with the Board, on a yearly basis, a work plan for the board to carry forward the strategic plans of CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
- Provide for the coordination of Board meetings and communications.
- Serve as staff member to all Board of Directors sub-committees unless otherwise directed.
- Management of the Organization:
- Directly supervise any applicable program management staff, develop a yearly work plan with staff which includes goals, objectives, inputs and outcomes, and timeline for the programs and services to be carried out by CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
- Provide ongoing management to assure the organization stays within approved plans and budgets.
- Develop contracts with outside vendors, professional organizations, and capacity builders to assure effective performance and advancement of the organization.
- Represent the organization at professional meetings upon approval of the board and/or the President.
- Manage Finance:
- Develop annual budget and submit to board for approval.
- Identify grant opportunities and develop proposals and produce required reporting to funding sources.
- Oversee annual financial review of organization activities in coordination with key officers and the CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS Board of Directors.
- Monitor expenditures and income, plan for core budget self-sufficiency.
- Work with CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS leadership to secure millage funding for CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
- Coordinate Advocacy Efforts:
- Work with lobbyist and Legislative sub-committees to develop advocacy strategy and submit to board for approval.
- Build relationships with state and local government officials and staff along with lobbyist while maintaining compliance within all applicable laws, rules and statutes.
- Develop relationships with local, state and national organizations involved in the healthcare, public safety and EMS sectors.
- Public Presence:
- Serve as lead spokesman and speaker for CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS. alongside the President and assure the mission of the organization is properly presented both externally and internally.
- Develop and maintain effective and ongoing relationships with media outlets to include the associations social media presence.
- Develop relationships with other organizations and persons pertinent to the EMS sector, coordinate activities and co-sponsor events.
- Other duties:
- Attend and work at meetings and events of CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS, unless other arrangements have been made.
- Manage and receive bids for CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS items as needed.
- Work with and support CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS Finance Committee to ensure proper processes are in place to meet the organization’s fiduciary responsibilities.
- Administer CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS administrative tasks in a timely and organized manner.
- Supervise and administer CHEBOYGAN LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS programs as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned by the board and/or the President.
