DeWys Manufacturing, Inc is seeking two qualified Welding Trainers.
Improve skills set of all hand welders, spot welders & robot welders, new and tenured, through various training methods. Training team members across shifts and across vertical business units to ISO and standard work specifications.
Off Shift Support- weekend shift; Friday, Saturday & Sunday 5a-5p * shift premium applicable
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Will work in conjunction with the team leads to ensure the machines and operators are achieving established goals.
- Create and maintain consistent clear work instructions. Create the standard template or method to communicate to the operators how the machine and tooling is used.
- Condition of equipment. Monitor working condition of equipment to ensure that it is in proper use – contact maintenance as needed to help improve the conditions.
- Work with Team Leads, Points & Mentors to ensure training deadlines are kept and met for new hires and for current upskilling.
- Process & keep training records.
- Training. Complete training needed for operators to ensure they have skills needed to complete their daily tasks. The training completed is to ensure that the team members can accomplish their goals/ metrics. Make sure materials are updated and following training list.
- Other duties: Continue to work in area to help run parts and hot jobs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. Will have input on team members performance during the review process and may be called in during the review process for assistance.
Communication Skills
Will need to have clear and effective communication skills to help promote and deal with situations, morale and team building. Will need to complete or have completed some communication training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Will need minimal of 3 year’s experience Welding (MIG & TIG). Must have leadership training. Would prefer associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or 5 or more years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CWI preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, communicates, and responds to questions from team members, customers, and suppliers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess good problem-solving skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License to be licensed as a qualified lift truck driver at DeWys Manufacturing, Inc.

While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to stand; team member is frequently required to communicate with fellow team members and walk throughout the VS. The team member is occasionally required to sit while performing administrative duties. Team member may on occasion be required to climb, balance, and crawl underneath machines when performing necessary repairs or maintenance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The team member is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes and airborne particles when performing grinding operations; and toxic and caustic chemicals when cleaning tools. Team member is also exposed to outside weather conditions when unloading sheet metal supplies. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud requiring hearing protection to be worn at all times. Safety glasses must also be worn at all times by team members.
