First Shift 8am - 6pm.: What Will You Do? As a Behavioral Health Navigator/EAP Therapy Specialist at Pine Rest, you'll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. This clinician provides assessment and referral services both internally to EAP clients and externally to vendors. Clinician has the general responsibility of providing professional evaluation and triage of patients to the most appropriate level of behavioral health service for both external vendors and clients seeking EAP services. Clinician evaluations and coordinates behavioral health intakes for external vendors. This may entail crisis management, intake and referral for placement of patients within the appropriate programs, case coordination with community referral sources, and utilization review for initial placement of patients. Clinician will also provide initial triage assessment of EAP clients calling for services. This may result in clinician providing crisis phone assistance, brief solution focused therapy, referral to higher level of care, or referral for ongoing therapy services. Our services include a state-of-the-art psychiatric urgent care center and a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioral health center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization (day programs), assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment and specialty services such as crisis response, employee assistance programs, forensic psychiatry and psychology, and neuromodulation. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide pre-admission screening or pre-authorization of behavioral health admissions for clients located within collaborating organizations external to Pine Rest. * Routinely reviews voluntary admissions process, recipient rights, and other policies as applicable with clients. Completes written documentation with the client; obtaining appropriate signatures as required by collaborating organizations external to Pine Rest. * Forms diagnostic impressions for mental, emotional and substance use disorders according to the DMS V criteria. * Provides prompt level of care assessment and care navigation to hospital emergency departments for clients in psychiatric crisis. * Receives calls from EAP/CAP/CAP clients wishing to utilize benefits and establishes rapport with these individuals which enables clinician to assess the level of care desired by and needed by the client. * Refers EAP/CAP/SAP clients to appropriate level of care outside the department if higher level of services is needed or if outpatient therapy services needed are likely to exceed the benefits of their EAP/CAP/SAP. * Selects appropriate interventions for providing care to the client, couple, or family within three to seven therapy visits and successfully implements these interventions. * Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding client's needs and progress as appropriate * Ensures all contacts with client or collaborating parties are appropriate documented, documentation is entered into the medical record in a timely fashion, and documentation is completed in accordance with established organizational and departmental procedures. * Coordinates services and community resources as needed and assists EAP/CAP/SAP clients in obtaining services * Participates regularly in departmental meetings. * Participated on on-call rotating schedule to provide coverage between the hours of 11pm and 7am on weeknights and on-call coverage from Friday night at 11pm until Monday morning at 7am. * Performs principal duties and responsibilities via video technology between the hours of 7am and 11pm daily as well as providing on-call coverage as listed above. * Gives and solicits feedback from staff to ensure a high quality of service and favorable staff relations.: Education, Training, and Experience: * Masters or Doctoral degree in licensed clinical area as well as Michigan license to practice. * Two to three years' experience working in a healthcare setting that includes diagnostic assessments, crisis screening, and psychosocial assessments preferred Benefits: * Medical, dental, vision life insurance plans * 403(b) retirement match contribution by Pine Rest * Generous PTO for full and part time employees * Tuition assistance loan forgiveness * Employee Assistance Program offering many free and discounted services for therapy, legal, accounting, gym membership, etc. * Partnership with Davenport University provides generous discount on tuition for employees and family members.
