The EHS Professional - Mobile Automation and Manufacturing is responsible for working with management, employees, and subcontractors (temporary labor) to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. The EHS Professional will work directly with the site to ensure that the safety and environmental programs are compliant with all applicable regulatory laws and best practices, implemented in an organized and efficient manner, and protective of the employees' health and safety. The EHS Professional will be the primary trainer of EHS topics and will manage all aspects of training compliance for the site. The role will also be responsible for all inspections of workplace safety, administration of all environmental programs, and will play a role in managing facility security. Additionally, the EHS Professional will take an active role in a rigorous back-to-work program and will work closely with the Workers Compensation administrator. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000-$95,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
This is What You Will do in This Role:
Conduct organized and professional administration of EHS for manufacturing at Grand Rapids and Holland, Michigan.
Act as an administrator in the EHS Gensuite system and perform activities of an administrator such as correction of entries and review of incident investigations.
Master Gensuite safety software and become very familiar with obtaining records and reports from the system.
Use analytical skills to examine trends and develop processes that are proactive in nature to solve negative trends and issues.
Perform periodic and regular site safety audits and inspections. Monitor inspection reports and monitor corrective actions for follow up and completion.
Manage all aspects of site training, including the tracking of training and ensuring all are sufficiently trained.
Manage all aspects of incident investigation, corrective actions, and work with Site supervision to ensure all incidents are fully investigated and documented.
Analyze accident/incident trends and develop/implement recommendations to improve safety behaviors and safety record.
Manage all aspects of environmental management for the site.
Actively support the return-to-work process and the site management to optimize return-to-work timeliness and opportunities to return-to-work with light duty restrictions.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with the peers, management, and site personnel.
Assures that toolbox talks are executed, signed by workers and filed.
Manage EHS ISO processes, inspections, auditing, for the Grand Rapids operation.
What We are Looking For:
A four-year degree in Safety and Health or Engineering preferred.
Demonstrated abilities for conducting training. OSHA 501 certification preferred.
Experience with manufacturing environments and facility maintenance.
Experience with online systems for data entry and reporting preferred.
Experience with normal business-related software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Experience managing a process or procedure requiring a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
Demonstrates a positive attitude and passion for health and safety and employee well-being.
Organize and manage tasks and priorities with precision and a sense of urgency
Ability to communicate well and to train all people at the site and manage training completion.
Ability to accurately perceive issues and provide expertise to solve issues that arise.
Understands and can demonstrate issue identification, resolution, tracking, and reporting.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
High levels of independence and assertiveness, and high ethical standards.
Ability to effectively explain and integrate requirements with operational efficiencies.
