SUMMARY
Individual is responsible for operating the waterjet, abrasive waterjet, shot peen, grit blast and thermal spray machines for processing components in PROGRESSIVE’S Process Services Department. This position is classified as safety-sensitive for FAA purposes only if working on aircraft parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Material handling.
2. Machine setup and fixturing.
3. Operates CNC/PLC to process parts.
4. Simple inspections and recordkeeping.
5. Equipment preventative maintenance and repair.
6. Load and unload trucks as needed.
MISCELLANEOUS RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Computer literate.
3. Materials knowledge and uses.
4. Manufacturing procedure background.
5. Print reading skills.
6. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
8. Valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
9. Ability to obtain Hilo Certification.
