What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Safety oriented and unwilling to compromise on safety rules, processes, and procedures
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills. Strong leadership abilities.
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Work requires working from heights, climbing fixed ladders, and stairs, etc.
Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
Lead assigned portion of outage scope through planning and construction
Develop scope for assigned work orders within the outage, identifying secondary and/or support disciplines required.
Create detailed planning activities in P6 for each work order utilizing planning templates as applicable. Activities include individual tasks, manpower, durations, and assigned discipline.
Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution.
Create job planning packages for each work order per Air Products guidelines for both internal and external distribution, e.g., bid events, contractor field personnel, etc. Packages may include pictures, P&IDs, BOMs, tools, safe work procedures, applicable standards, QC requirements, etc.
Support Management of Change process, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.
Provide contractor field management in all outage phases for assigned contractors, including safety, timesheet verification, field oversight, change orders, and QC verification.
Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites. Conduct frequent formal housekeeping inspections of plant areas.
Complete close out and documentation as required by Air Products standards and procedures.
Ideal Background
E du cation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
E xperience: This position requires 10+ years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, preferably with experience in industrial outages, exchangers, pumps, hydrotesting and pipe fabrication and 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Planner.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to read and understand P&IDs, ISO's, piping isometrics, fixed equipment design packages, and pipe specs.
Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.
Working knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME Sec. I, and ASME Sec. VIII
Previous experience building execution work packages with detailed work plans including safety matrix, picture, P&ID, isometric, bill of material, etc.
Previous QC experience and a valid CWI or API 510 or API 570 preferred
Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines. Travel may be required as much as 25-45% depending on projects
Ability to work without close supervision.
