Coborn's, Inc. proudly owns and operates Marketplace Foods locations in Northwestern Wisconsin and Tadych's Marketplace Foods locations in Eastern Wisconsin and Michigan in addition to a variety of other entities in Minnesota, Illinois, South Dakota, and North Dakota. We are hiring for a Bakery Merchandising Specialist (internally called an Operations Specialist) to support our stores in Michigan and Wisconsin.
This role requires frequent travel with overnight stays to our communities throughout Wisconsin and Michigan and occasional visits to the Coborn's Support Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A company vehicle is provided. We are looking for the best candidate for the position and the individual may reside in Wisconsin, Michigan, or Minnesota.
Position Summary:
The primary focus of this position is to coach, train and mentor store operation teams in executing and complying with the prescribed operational and merchandising programs for the assigned areas. This position is responsible for providing retail merchandise expertise, championing fresh department initiatives, and training all levels of store employees. This position works closely with the Director of Operations and Store Director and will provide indirect supervision to Store Leadership. Frequent travel is required of this position, including overnight stays.
All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance and availability to work outside standard business hours as needed:
Coach, train and mentor store leadership teams at assigned stores.
Serve as a subject matter expert for the company's merchandising and operations programs, plans and procedures.
Monitor adherence to and executional excellence of prescribed fresh merchandising and operational programs
Train and develop all levels of department employees - with special focus on Department Managers and Assistant Department Managers - to support their achievement of budget targets and mastery of their assigned duties.
Assist the Store Director to document, plan, write and deliver performance evaluations. Provide coaching and feedback as necessary.
Oversee, manage and assist with new store/department set-ups, remodels and resets. Order product, coordinate staffing and training/retraining of department personnel.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of three to five years related experience.
Supervision experience required, with multiple store supervision experience preferred.
Must posses a current state driver's license and valid insurance with the ability to travel to business locations as needed.
Ability to obtain a Food Safety Certificate if required.
