Our Operations teams are responsible for all aspectsof manufacturing high quality products in a timely manner to delight our customers. Operations team members play an important role in Herman Miller's success and prepare us to help people do great things. As an HVAC Mechanic 2, you'll perform advanced breakdown and preventive maintenance (PM) that includes the inspection, repair, and revision of complex and sophisticated HVAC equipment. You will enhance and improve HVAC equipment to ensure the best possible performance. You'll perform breakdown maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing, and documentation. You will also partner with management, engineering, and vendors regarding new equipment selection, specifications, set-up, and training. You may alsoact in a lead capacity and provide direction to other employees.

Actively participate inand contribute to systems and equipment process design and improvements.
Actively support all environmental and recycling efforts, including the disposal of hazardous materials. You may need to be HAZMAT certified.
Adhere to all corporate and department safety guidelines and procedures. You'll attend, and may conduct, safety training to keep current.
Contribute to plant layout to facilitate the move, relocation, and installation of new or existing HVAC systems and equipment.
Direct contractors in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and equipment.
Document repairs, set-up, maintenance, PM, and safety procedures to ensure equipment reliability, quality control, and improve the overall operation of equipment.
Inspect, adjust, program, and make repairs to plant HVAC systems and manufacturing and/or facilities-related equipment according to work assigned.
Ensure the working area, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
Recommend andtake partin systems and equipment modifications with management and engineering.
Recommend spare parts for inventory to provide equipment reliability.
Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
Take responsibility for all repairs and the installation of HVAC systems and components.
Work with internal business partners to ensure effective and timely repairs, projects, and maintenance
Sound Like You?
You might be just who we're looking for if you have . . .
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Completed an Apprenticeship Program and have a State of Michigan Mechanical Contractor License.
Three to fiveyears of HVAC work experience.
Work experience in a leadership capacity (necessary).
Continued youreducation by attending classes providing updated information on new codes and standards related to the job.
A valid driver's license.
AHerman Miller, Inc. forklift and AWP operator's license, or the ability to obtain one. Other equipment licensingmay berequired depending onlocation or assignment.
The demonstrated technical aptitude, initiative, and leadership abilities required for this level.
The ability to interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, and printed instructions to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
The ability to work weekends and perform call-in work as business needs require.
The abilityto communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation/communication software and tools currently being used in the Herman Milleroffice environment.
The abilityto perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
