Salary:
Training salary range is $720-$800 per week, depending on proven experience. Once training orientation is successfully completed, regular wages are discussed and implemented based on industry standards.
Summary of Duties:
The Johnson Oil Company Petroleum Transport Driver is responsible for loading, securing, transporting, and delivering dispatched fuel orders to service stations and/or bulk storage facilities. The Petroleum Transport Driver assumes responsibility for inspections and safety requirements to remain in compliance with all DOT requirements. Electronic logs are maintained on an iPad in the cab of the truck.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations.
- Work in partnership with maintenance department to ensure trailer/tractor are in safe working order.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload fuel to designated areas within a reasonable time frame.
- Remain engaged in work-related activity while clocked in.
- Communicate with Transport Dispatcher a minimum of weekly and if any concerns or obstacles arise.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Maintain the operational efficiency of vehicles by conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety.
- Ensure that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; report larger service needs and mechanical issues to mechanics and supervisor.
- Apply a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products.
- Maintain hygiene-cleanliness of the inside of the truck cab, the outside of truck and trailer, and present a clean and well-groomed appearance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
The qualified candidate will:
- possess CLASS A CDL license with current HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
- present a current DOT medical card.
- present a minimum of 2 years driving a Class A tractor-trailer full time (including 3 full winter seasons driving in snow/ice)
- provide recent experience, where primary daily duties include full-time tractor-trailer driving at the CDL-CLASS A level.
- offer a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), “Drive-a-Check” detailed employment history file (DAC) and criminal background check.
