The ideal candidate will be able to efficiently apply various industrial coatings within a targeted dry film thickness to test panels for study. Familiarity with industrial coatings systems will be a plus. Typically zinc primer, epoxy intermediate, and various topcoats. Candidates must be proficient with airless and conventional spray application equipment, abrasive blasting, and power tool cleaning equipment. For more information, visit: www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: * Coordinating application schedules with internal departments and customers * Review and find all relative information in Product Data Sheets * Accurately document conditions, equipment used, material used, etc. * Maintenance, cleaning, and stocking of application equipment * General housekeeping and maintenance of the shop * Assisting and overseeing the surface preparation department, which may include the operation of machines, blast cabinets, and power tools Equipment familiarity: * Airless spray equipment (Graco-King pump, bulldog, and XP70 plural component) * Conventional spray equipment (pressure pot and gravity) * Wet film gauge, dry film gauge * Various power tools (electric and pneumatic) and hand tools, including but not limited to; drill press, band saw, and abrasive blasting equipment Qualifications: * Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite * SSPC, NACE, FHW NHI, or MDOT coatings inspection training preferred * Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial painting * GED or High School Diploma Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration * Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site * Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language * Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members * Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours * Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.) * Able to climb and leave a ladder to a platform varying from 6' to 20' * Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working * Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds * Able to wear and work utilizing a respirator or SCBA type of breathing apparatus
