ERM is seeking a Health, Safety and Industrial Hygienist to join our growing EHS technical consulting firm in our office in Holland, Michigan. In this role, you will provide technical assistance on health and safety compliance projects, safety oversight, risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, and compliance assurance programs for clients locally, nationally, and internationally. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and assess safety programs procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
Provide on-site EHS compliance support at client facilities.
Support the development and implementation of corporate H&S strategies and programs for industrial or chemical hygiene, compliance auditing, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, training, and general compliance support.
Prepare technical reports and other deliverables.
Develop a working understanding of ERMs other consulting service areas and actively support cross selling these services to existing clients.
Conduct inspections, investigations, safety observations, job safety analysis and risk assessments and resulting mitigation activities that will identify, evaluate and control unsafe health & safety hazards or risks.
Perform Safety risk assessments and implement effective programs, procedures, practices and standard work to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees.
Support safety education/teaching in various manufacturing environments, while assuring safe operating procedures are implemented and followed to ensure the safety and health of employees.
Assist with industrial hygiene studies and surveys.
Assist in the development of solutions to technical and regulatory issues and concerns.
Engage with local regulators on topics including building code, fire code and building/environmental permits.
Enable our clients business objectives and become an extension of their EHS team.
Implement H&S programs and strategies in the areas of industrial hygiene, safety management systems, risk management, high-impact training, and compliance support.
Manage a variety of tasks to achieve scope, budget and schedule targets while ensuring we meet and exceed our clients' expectations on deliverables.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science degree. Masters Degree a plus.
2 years of safety compliance experience, preferably in consulting.
Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification desired but not required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Experience in gathering and analyzing safety-related data.
Experience working inHigh Tech, Power, Pharmaceutical or chemical sector environments.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
Ability to travel and work at client and ERM offices, including air travel, average of 50%.
