Position Summary:
Provides in depth knowledge of EMR software connectivity to laboratory information systems. Assists in evaluating clinical operations and workflow addressing needs of individual offices and other health care facilities. Hosts online software demonstrations, demonstrates functionality of EMR software to potential clients. Assists in resolving critical problems related to implementation. Implements and coordinates all vendor activities for timely and efficient production schedule.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Leads implementation and maintenance of Electronic Medical Records systems/computer-based databases utilizing software for the delivery of laboratory outreach services.
Manages interface projects between departmental and medical center information systems, doctor's offices, or other health care facilities.
Plans and manages interfaced systems for automated ordering and result return of patient data.
Coordinates and monitors outreach ordering and result return for accuracy and timeliness.
Responsible for systems analysis, and design of reports for physicians, external outreach clients and accrediting agencies.
Coordinates testing, writing procedures, training and in servicing of users on software updates and implementation. Educates and maintains ongoing communication with personnel regarding project progress, problems and revision needs.
Develops and implementation of system testing plans and procedures.
Leads troubleshooting and resolution of computer-related problems and develop plans of action to prevent future occurrences.
Manages project timelines as needed and prepares status and/or project reports for management, client, or others and adjusts schedules or plans as required.
Manage and resolve client escalations and provide timely and appropriate solutions.
Oversees problem resolution related to contract obligation and customer servicing in accordance with implementations and/or special projects and initiatives.
Fosters excellent working relationships with project team leaders in key functional areas during the implementation process and product installations.
Serves as a liaison between providers and IT to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
Identifies opportunities for the use of clinical information systems and electronic health records, and documents lessons learned to ensure ongoing success with future initiatives.
Performs other related duties as required, including improvements and/or technology that relates to job assignments.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Education, Information Technology, Nursing, Medical Technology, or related field; or Associates Degree in Health Sciences, Education, Information Technology, Nursing, Medical Technology, or related field with 5 years healthcare experience.
2 years' experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working experience/knowledge with HL7 messaging.
Three years' experience in EMR and computer interfacing in a health care environment.
Working experience in Information Technology.
Clinical laboratory workflow experience.
