Our experience encompasses virtually every type of automotive test facility , including climatic and driveability wind tunnels; aerodynamic, acoustic, and thermodynamic wind tunnels; emissions test rooms; soak rooms; altitude chambers; engine and powertrain test cells; and electromagnetic anechoic chambers. We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities
BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technician will be working in a vehicle emissions testing facility in Allen Park. This facility applies numerous testing methods and data acquisition software to support and conduct a variety of Engine, Powertrain, and Durability Tests.
The position duties will include:
Test Site Maintenance
Execute Preventive Maintenance and Site Repairs on a regular basis
Assist vendor support when warranted.
Inventory consumables & spare parts necessary to maintain the operation.
Maintain daily site status log.
Support a three-shift operation.
Support power-train emissions development, U.S. Certification, Homologation, & Vehicle Engineering (VE) problem resolution
Support the development of new equipment / test methodologies required to meet new emissions and fuel economy requirements.
Additional assignments as necessary to deliver corporate objectives.
Cross-function as required within multiple laboratories.

Here's What You'll Need:
This position is for Midnight shift, but shifts will rotate to afternoons every three months for a month at a time and for training.
The Site Support Technician position at the Vehicle Emission Test facility requires automotive experience and knowledge. Ability to troubleshoot and great communication skills are vital to this role.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
HS Diploma or GED
Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have valid driver's license.
Preferred:
AA Degree or equivalent in an appropriate and relevant discipline, and a minimum of two (2) years or more of relevant experience for Electronic Technicians.
Possess the ability to drive a manual transmission.

Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.
Other Essential Functions
Must pass PMHV Physical. Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.
