This full-time position will have a core schedule of working late afternoons into early mornings. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take on the challenges and rewards of being a nurse tech as part of a dynamic ED team. Here at Corewell Health Ludington Hospital's ED, we care for a wide variety of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics, traumas to medicals. Our strategic goal in the ED is to provide the same level of initial care that is found in larger tertiary hospitals. We want to ensure that our patient care is optimized throughout a patient's stay, even when transfer to a tertiary center is necessary. As a regional hospital that is a significant distance to any tertiary center, we strive to provide the right level of care at the right time, every time.
All new NTs are cross trained to provide unit support in the unit secretary role in addition to their NT responsibilities. Staff can expect to receive the additional training in their secondary role once their primary NT orientation has been completed as time/funding permits. Our goal is that even all of our NT staff be qualified to occupy either position's responsibilities within 6 months of hire. Working as an NT/US in our ED provides opportunities for personal, professional, and educational growth for our staff. Many of our NTs are actively in nursing and other allied health programs and their responsibilities and activities in the ED provide them with significant clinical experience that helps build their knowledge, understanding, and comfort in the clinical setting. Together, we form a team that is focused on improving the outcomes of our patients and being a key component of our community's emergency response services.
