Summary
This position has civil design responsibility of expansion-related projects at Hemlock Semiconductor. Project sizes are large, >$100MM. Works as part of the HSC project team, interfaces with external partners, reports to the engineering manager and works directly with a project manager, is accountable to the HSC Portfolio Management Office.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for new underground infrastructure integrated to existing site infrastructure and conditions.
- Development of new roads, rights-of-way, and block boundaries.
- Understanding of constraints related to easements, municipal capacities, relevant permits, and authorities having jurisdiction.
Skills
- Civil or Structural discipline expertise in ASCE, AISC, ACI, ASME, ASTM, NFPA, ANSI codes and HSC standards, specifications, and guidelines.
- Project planning and execution knowledge.
- Skills and knowledge and abilities to engineer:
- Civil – Underground piping systems and site work
- Optional: Structural – Structural steel, concrete, masonry, building code
- Strong organization and written/oral communication, while working with internal and external project teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience of working in complex teams of engineering disciplines, manufacturing, business, and regulatory functions.
- Maturity and ability to maintain positive attitude during difficult situations and times of ambiguity.
- Proficiency with business computer applications (MS Office Suite).
Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan is preferred.
Required Work Experience
- At least 3 years' experience in civil design and engineering environment.
