AJD Forest Products LP in Graying, MI is the original Lake State industrial hardwood lumber sawmill. We produce high-grade red oak, soft maple, aspen, ash and basswood. Since 1974 we have been the producers of the best quality industrial lumber in the Lake State.
JOB DUTIES
- Must be able to perform preventative maintenance, routine and non-routine repairs, and troubleshoot problems with machinery in a Sawmill.
- Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches and crowbars, and other hand tools.
- Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
- Cut and join metals and other materials in the process of assembling the products of the company.
- Operate appropriate equipment following all safety guidelines including cutting with arc and gas.
- Welding according to specifications ( e.g. Cut material with powered saws to match measurement)
- Operate grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work on a team
