CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time position (37.5 hours per week) The starting time for this position is 8:30 a.m.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under limited direction, manages the operations of the Clinical Informatics Division, including directing and managing staff. Oversees the implementation of electronic medical records and data reporting systems to manage and communicate data and information in a clinical setting. Facilitates the integration of data and information to support persons served and the healthcare team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs informatics solutions and technology to support all areas of healthcare delivery, including the direct provision of care and establishing effective systems.
Evaluates current workflow to formulate outcomes for groups and organizational processes.
Develops processes and policies on informatics best practices.
Oversees the training of Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) staff in the use of electronic medical records and data reporting systems.
Uses informatics to promote staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes.
Applies professional standards of care, scientific evidence, and practices to evaluate healthcare programs across the care continuum.
Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities to promote accountability and appropriate use of data.
Participates in the implementation of clinical information and management systems.
Builds professional relationships to leverage best practices, evaluate emerging technologies and educate end-users.
Prepares health information technology system evaluations for selection and use.
Monitors outcomes and evaluates user adoption of current and newly implemented health information technology.
Applies appropriate methods of identifying information and technical requirements to assist end-users.
Integrates quality improvement methodologies to improve workflow, changes in health information technology, regulations, and standards in a healthcare setting.
Acts as a change agent in the identification, development, planning, implementation, adoption, and measurement of informatics strategies to support quality care and professional practice.
Partners with quality, clinical, and leadership teams to address organization priorities.
Analyzes and evaluates health information technology and recommends revisions of clinical systems, processes, and workflow to ensure positive outcomes.
Develops and implements appropriate service delivery in collaboration with IT leadership in defining, delivering, and improving services for the organization and consumers.
Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Health Information Technology, Informatics, Nursing, or related field
- Five (5) years of experience overseeing and accessing informatics in a healthcare setting
- Three (3) years of experience in staff supervision and management
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in data analytics, data science tools such as R, PowerBI, Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy), SQL Server Analysis Services
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
Preferred Licenses or Certifications
- Licensed by the Michigan Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines
