The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Set Up Lead will be responsible for training operators in the art of setting up and running machines for each line, in addition to tending and troubleshooting the equipment. Determining the standard processes and procedures for setting up each piece of equipment will be a critical element as well. The goal of this role is to standardize the set up processes and procedures for each piece of equipment to form a basis for training operators, thus improving quality, productivity, and the skill base of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Support equipment and process setup, basic maintenance, cleaning of equipment, work area and facility
Work towards eliminating production defects, maximizing product throughput, and continuously improving the overall performance of the area
Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for improvement to the leadership team
Lead the training and coaching of operators on manufacturing procedures, work instructions and guidelines
Actively participate in production meetings discussing Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity (Labor Efficiency/OEE).
Actively participate in 5S and other lean manufacturing projects
Works closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to develop standards for setup of equipment to be used as a basis for training operators
Trains operators in set up and troubleshooting of lines and equipment according to the standards
Identify and document Maintenance Work Orders to improve equipment and document equipment in need of repair
Works closely with the maintenance team and engineering to facilitate repairs and improvements to equipment and processes
Assists with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, etc. as required for manufacturing under the leadership of the Manufacturing Supervisor
May need to learn additional lines and equipment as required
Mandatory overtime may be required to support company objectives
Comply with safety and regulatory regulations, policies, and procedures
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull, up to 50lbs
5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience
Proven people and communication skills
Problem solving skills
Must have computer aptitude, including: data entry, program navigation, etc.
